Face Masks

There are different types of masks, which differ in their different production materials, the target group of the wearer, the suitable purpose for them and different equipment characteristics. Below is an overview of the different types of masks offered by the blnk Healthcare brand. Some of the masks can be purchased in the stock pack.

Community masks: The term "community mask" became known especially in the course of the Corona pandemic. This refers to face masks made from commercially available fabrics (cotton or cotton-polyester mix) and worn in everyday life.

Face masks: The "mouth-nose protection" is often referred to as medical mask. The classic, often blue or green, surgical masks are usually made of fine nonwoven or pulp. As a special feature, they are provided with a metallic nasal bridge, which can be adapted to the individual nose shape.

Filtering half masks (FFP2, FFP3, KN95): The filtering face piece (FFP) are masks designed to protect the wearer from particles, droplets and aerosols. They are specially designed for work areas where particulate matter and aerosols are produced that can irritate the airways. Accordingly, they must meet the requirements of the standard EN 149:2001+A1:2009 or DIN EN 149:2009. They are generally available with and without exhalation valve as well as a metallic nasal bridge.

FFP2 masks: These masks are suitable for working environments where harmful and mutagenic substances are in the air. They must collect at least 94% of the particles in the air up to a size of 0.6 μm.

KN95/N95 Masks: Masks of protection classes N95 (US standard) and KN95 (chinese standard) are to be set the same as the European class FFP2. They have a slightly higher filter inge of at least 95% of the non-oil particles in the air.

FFP3 masks: These masks are suitable for handling carcinogenic or radioactive substances and pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and fungal spores. The protective masks of the protection class FFP3 offer the greatest possible protection against breathing air pollution. They have a maximum leakage of 5% and a protection of at least 99% from particles up to a size of 0.6 μm.
